Nature In Art Trip – May 2025
Several WI members had a hugely enjoyable trip to Nature in Art today, to view a special exhibition called ‘A Nod for Lady Elwes’.
Lady Carolyn Elwes was a talented self-taught artist who created increasingly skilful artwork over many decades. Many of her botanical drawings and watercolours of individual rare varieties of snowdrop were displayed, including detailed botanical notes. [Her garden Colesbourne Gardens has a magnificent display of snowdrops] We saw artwork from the 1980s onwards, including some amazing sketchbooks giving an illustrated insight into some of her family’s activities and adventures, magnificent needlepoint wall hangings and an embroidered waistcoat made from her wedding dress train. What a fabulous exhibition!
Pop Up Sale – April 2025
We had a great Pop Up Sale on 26th April. Lots of people came, browsed and bought – success!
